Katie is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and ERYT-500 Yoga Teacher.
She has been working therapeutically with clients since 2006. Her approach to yoga therapy brings a solid biomechanical understanding to the compassionate and gentle exploration of fluid movement. As a skilful and sensitive therapist, Katie will guide you in exploring how to safely align your body and help you to deepen your own awareness to facilitate healing.
Katie’s work is also focused on using the tools of yoga (body based awareness, breath work, gentle self guided movement) to support mental and emotional health.
Her ‘Body Centred Conversations’ are strongly influenced by her studies in Somatic Experiencing (a body based approach for working with trauma and the nervous system), experiential counselling, trauma informed practice, an embodied approach to NonViolent Communication, 12+ years of work as a Yoga Therapist, and a personal and deep apprenticeship to the wisdom of the body as a natural, intuitive guide for our own insight, resourcing, and healing.
Katie holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and is an Advanced Level Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in Training (SEP).
